Well here’s a question I just had to answering straight away:
Question: Who is the Greatest Ever Bass Guitar Player?
Answer: I believe it is a Mr Jack Bruce who played in the supergroup Cream as well as the supergroup BBM as well as with most musicians who are regarded as "great" in their own field. He was originally offered the bassist job in Led Zeppelin which he turned down. Possibly the second best bassist John Paul Jones took the job!
We’ve had a reader question come in on the subject of guitar players. Let’s take a look:
Question: Who is the Greatest Guitar Player of All Time, Hendrix,Page,Blackmore,Vai, BB or Another ??
Answer: It has to be Jimi Hendrix. Why? Well listen to guitarists before Jimi Hendrix came on the scene, then listen to guitarists afterwards. His influence changed the whole guitar sound. Nobody ever used the ELECTRIC guitar better than him. You get guitar players now who play lightening scales. But so what? Where is the musical content in that? With practice, most people can play fast scales but it’s just the male equivalent of seeing who can piss up the wall the highest! What’s the point? That is musical autism at its best. Most people only hear Jimi’s popular stuff like Voodoo Chile or Purple Haze. Both great songs, but try to get a listen to ‘Midnight’ or ‘Pali Gap’ – those songs are what you would call ‘movies for your ears’.
What a great guitar players question:
Question: Can Guitar Pro Midi Files Get Played on a Regular/average C.d. Player?
Answer: No. MIDI files are just recordings of key commands, not actual sound. A MIDI sequencer requires a syth module to produce sounds.
Well here’s a question I just had to answering straight away:
Question: Guitar Players?technically Brilliant or Havin a Feel for What They Are Playing?who Rocks and Who Sucks?
Answer: To answer this question one has to consider more than one genre of music. The usual answers to questions like these are Clapton, Van Halen, and Santana, They are great but they are far, far, far, from the best. You have to look at the classical guitarists as well as the jazz players. I think Santana can play it all. Clapton got creamed by George Benson when he tried to do a duet with him. Clapton is one dimensional and is best when he plays blues based rock. Van Haylen won’t even try jazz or classical because he would get lost. Some of the best players in the business are people you don’t even know.
I speak from experience as one who is in the business.
Keep the guitar players questions coming! I liked this one:
Question: I would like to own a gibson voodoo explorer if i had the cash lol.
Answer: I have a Les Paul Goddess and a Stratocaster and a 67 Telecaster which was passed down from my dad.
But if I had a ton of cash to blow right now I think I would go for this Gibson SG Custom which I have had my eye on for a while: http://img3.musiciansfriend.com/dbase/pics/products/5/1/8/396518.jpg It’s just so beautiful….
