A tough learn guitar question this week. Let’s dive straight in
Question: ok, i have a electric guitar! and i want to learn how to play it but mom want get me lessons so how do i go about learning?? any websites or stuff that could teach me chords and stuff??
plus, i already know how to tune it so i can skip that step
Answer: Well personally, I think you won’t do as well if you don’t get lessons. So i’d say, ask some friends if they can show you the basics. If not, then you will have to buy lessons yourself.
Learning an instrument is expensive.
Another learn guitar question has come in this week. Let’s tackle it straight away:
Question: So, I reeeaalllly wanna learn. I have an old electric in my house with the amp but while playing around with trying to tune it, i broke 3 strings lol =P. I wanna learn how to play guitar myself because I don’t have the money for guitar lessons. How should I start and go along? I know and can play a few chords like G major, C major, E minor, D minor because my friends likes to show me and let her play on her guitar. Should I start like that, just memorizing all the chords?
Help appreciated =]
Answer: you could watch free lessons on the INTERNET, YouTube for example (go on and type how to play "the name of the song" on guitar)(or how to play the AM chord)(or "beginner guitar lesson number 1" and they will start from the complete bottom for complete beginners its easy to follow) or "freeguitarlessons.com" (i think that’s what its called) online lessons are helpful and some of them explain really well that’s how i started
but you could start by finding a song you like that has those chords in it and start by practice to move your fingers from chord to chord in tempo. then when you reach that level you could start learning more chords, as to not confuse your self by taking in too much information at one time. you just need to practice ALOT and try not to get bored because everything at the beginning is difficult and a pain when you cant do it at the first, second or third trial you just need to stick to it the first parts the hardest. GOOD LUCK!
What’s this week’s question? Let’s dive straight in…

I just love answering these learn guitar questions. Here’s another:
Question: Is 16 Too Old to Learn How to Play Guitar ?
Answer: They say that starting young with learning a language gives you an advantage over people who are older and trying to learn a language. I don’t think this is the case at all with guitar. You’re never too old to start. For example, Jack White of The White Stripes started playing when he was about 19, and look where he is now.
A tough learn guitar question this week. Let’s dive straight in
Question: Hi, I would like to pursue something in music as a career and it will probably end up being either owning a music store or making custom guitars does anyone know how i can learn to make customs?
Answer: This site will give you in depth instructions from what kind of woods to use, to what kinds of tools you’ll need, and how long it will take to build a guitar.

Good Luck!
This week’s question is a good one. Let’s have a look:
Question: Hi. Im a complete beginner with playing any musical instrument. Recently i brought a cheap electric guitar to begin to attempt to learn how to play it but i have no idea how
. I cant afford lessons atm so if anyone could show me a site that teaches even just the basics for free it would be a huge help
Answer: Youtube!
There are SO many tutorials on here, tailoring to all levels and requirements. Type in anything you could want to learn, I dare you! ‘D Chord on Guitar’ for example….I bet you will get loads of videos that will teach you it.
Beyond video tutorials which are I suppose more like real lessons, you can’t go wrong with websites like Ultimate Guitar and Chordie. I’m sure they have all sorts of video and readable lessons you could look at. If I’m honest, I’ve played Guitar for six months and I’m by no means amazing, but I do well by simply watching videos of how to play songs, or just looking up how to play chords and experimenting. It’s as simple as that
! You’ll soon start picking it up. But remember…practice what you learn!
Hope this helps,
Rose
This week’s question is as follows:
Question: And my first song is Tailor Made by Colbie Caillat
Is this a good song to start off with?
And I am open to other suggestions if you have them! Thanks!
Answer: That seems like a good choice. You could also learn the Super Mario Bros music:
http://www.FuzzyMonkeyTabs.com/MarioSimple.html
Or I also know of an easy version of Fur Elise by Beethoven:

Both of those are for beginners.
Keep the learn guitar questions coming! I liked this one:
Question: Hi
Ok, so I have decided I’d like to play the bass and I’ve been playing the guitar for about 2 or 3 years now, so would that make playing bass a bit easier?
And also, I have tiny hands so would that affect the difficulty? Haha, silly questions but I need to know. Thanks :3
Answer: Tiny hands don’t matter. There’s a very tiny girl in a band in my local area, I laughed when I heard she was switching from guitar to bass because any normal bass isn’t that far off being taller than she is, but aslong as you can shift around the fret board with ease it shouldn’t be a problem.
There are people in the world playing 7 and 8 string basses with average sized hands, and the neck on some basses is finer than some acoustic 6 string guitars. so a person with small hands will have no problem playing a 4 string. You might have to make more exaggerated movments when going from one string to the other but with speed and strength, there is no reason why you can’t be a brilliant bassist.
Your experience on guitar should help, altough chords are out of the window when it comes to bass (there are bass chords but they don’t sound that good).
