How Long Does It Take to Learn How to Play the Guitar?

Question: Hello everyone, I would like to learn how to play the guitar and I’m wondering if you could tell me how long it may take for me to be really good at it?
Answer: Depending on your level of dedication, it could be quick, or not. I’ve been playing for 20 years, and there are still some things that I can’t pull off. Getting really good takes a certain amount of ability that just can’t be taught, the same sort of thing that guys like Clapton and Hendrix have.

Nobody ever fully learns everything on the guitar. You always learn new things everyday, it’s impossible to learn everything about it in just a lifetime. You can get good at it though, that also just depends on how quickly your hands get used to it all. Here is a site with some easy steps on starting off learning

er…really good?…well…if you mean musical knowledge and all…minimum a year…if you just want to be able to pick up a guitar and play it well…i would say minimum a month…
I’ve been playing guitar for about 2 years and it is sooooo much fun!!!!! It took me about 5weeks to master the basic chords and welllah!! I could play our song by taylor swift!!! You will never regret picking up the guitar!!!
It will take you a lifetime to fully learn. You will get pretty good in about 5 years though.
My daughter just started learning a year ago — she could play almost any Taylor Swift song after two weeks of online tabs and practice. Taylor Swift is a good place to start, because she usually only writes with four chords, (D, A, Em, G; with some exceptions, obviously.) Good Luck
