I depends on what music you will play because Guitars are more challenging than a piano and a flute

Trust me when I say this, since you already have a knack for music, it will come MUCH faster than if you didn't know anything. Personally, I already had a basic knowledge of music and I started noticing that I was decent at guitar after about 4 months of 20 mins a day practicing. so much fun!

It depends widely on what you consider knowing how to play guitar. You probably can pick up a book at the music store and run though it in a day, you probably could get on 911tabs and learn a lot of songs that way. The major things you have to learn on guitar is chords and scales, almost everybody uses pentatonic scales so that is not too hard. If you are really talented in music you probably can be pretty good in about 6 months to a year. The thing about music is that you never stop learning. I learn new things about guitar everyday (the key to getting better is to be open to new things. One of the most problematic things with most musicians.) If you focus on one style of music for a year or 2, you will be good at that style, but most people won't say that you know guitar, you have to know a lot of styles and a lot of techniques. It takes a lifetime to master guitar but to learn enough to get buy is about a year, if you are dedicated.

It all depends on you. You have to practice to get good. The biggest killer of potential great guitarists is that they want the immediate affect without working for it. You can't do that, you have to stick with it to get results. When I first started guitar I never practiced and only learned at my lessons. I wasn't getting anywhere, and I got frustrated, then I realized the obvious, you have to practice to become good, I practiced, and got much better. Good luck!

but playing piano will definitely make it easier
it just depends on how much you practice and how committed you are
