Is It Easy to Learn How to Play the Guitar?
Posted in learn guitar on 05. Jul, 2010
What a great learn guitar question:
Question: i want to learn so bad, is it usually fast and easy to learn how to play guitar?
Answer: It all depends on what you like to play and how you want it to sound.
Many songs on the guitar can be played with 1 finger just sliding along, yet they will not sound as full and thick as the normal song would.
However if you try to play a famous piece such as… Sweet Child O’ Mine – Guns N’ Roses it won’t be easy to learn, but when you do learn it WILL be easy to play.

A guitar is like a woman. You have to get to know it first, practice with it and there will never be a point where you’ll understand it better.
no its not easy
Lots of practice. LOTS. The more you practice, the better and more enjoyable it will get. But, no, it’s not exactly easy. I mean, you’re not going to be able to just pick up a random guitar and be able to play a song in 5 minutes or something. Basic things like moving your fingers from chord to chord and simple picking takes practice.
If your definition of the word "easy" is to play a song from beginning to end during your first week of learning to play the guitar then you are right. You should immediately learn that the guitar may have some points or techniques easier to grasp than others, but it takes years to become proficient.
If you have a tendency to quit something when a project doesn’t produce fruit in the first few days then the guitar is not for you.
