What Classic Rock/metal Song Should I Learn to Play on Guitar?

Well here’s a question I just had to answering straight away:

Question: i’v been playing for about a year now. i’m a teenager in highschool and i’m tryin to figure out what would be best for me to play when the school talent show comes up. i’m more interested in high pitch and quick paste songs. and plus, my guitar is missing the low e string. i thought to myself, what if i could learn to play a fast song without that string. and i thought to myself, i could try iron maiden’s afraid to shoot strangers. any advice for others i could try?
Answer: anything from the ramones is basically all power chords , beat on a brat , but dude seriously if you don’t have the talent to play guitar that good don’t even go on stage it would make you look bad for a talent show give yourself sometime and start playing songs by Led Zep,, and if your guitar is missing a string get that fix or else it would like as if you have borrow your guitar from your little brother

I'm Super Nervous About My First Guitar Lesson , What's to Expect ?!?

A tough guitar lessons question this week. Let’s dive straight in

Question: I’m starting the guitar and my first lesson is tomorrow to start me off and see how I do and see whether I like it.. My teacher is a really fit 15 year old so I don’t want to make a complete fool out of myself and screw up. Is there any advice I can be given before going in and what is to be expected ?
Answer: Just be relaxed. If it is a group lesson you have nothing to worry about at all. If it’s alone, well just remember that your teacher expects you to know nothing. My group lesson goes super slow so I’m going to guess one on one lessons start of slow. If you want to impress your teacher I would say learn some basic chords and notes in the first position on maybe like the first 2 or 3 strings. Make sure to ask about anything you don’t get and again, just relax. Guitar is supposed to be fun, enjoy it. :)

Any Good Free Bluegrass Style Guitar Lessons Online for a Total Beginner?

What’s this week’s guitar lessons question? Let’s dive straight in…

Question: I’ve looked everywere on the net . I just want to get good enough so I wont be so embarrassed to try to learn and pick with em. I wanna be able to join in a jam sesion and not completely make an ass out of myself but the people i know that play are really good and don’t really like having to completely start from scratch i can strum a few chords but i need to be able to carry a beat or something i know to pluck the bass notes then strum but i rlly need some practice exercises to help me at picking out the notes i know this probally wont get any responses but any help would be greatly appreciated only answer if u r a bluegrass picker plz
Answer: Dude, this is not the question of being a bluegrass picker or not. You need to understand the basics of guitar, chords, scales, bluegrass scales and chord progressions before you even think of mastering a genre. You cannot restrict your playing to just bluegrass or blues or metal and be biased to only learn and play them. It doesn’t work that way at all.

If you have a rock solid foundation on the scales, chords and know how to build them and how to play them all over the fret board then you are ready to become a bluegrass or blues guitarist and you can play style or genre with ease. If not, then you have a long long way to go, buddy. Remember there are absolutely NO shortcuts in learning guitar.
