Another guitar lessons question has come in this week. Let’s tackle it straight away:
Much appreciated
If you want to try to learn on your own until you are able to start the lessons, here are some instructional materials I think are worthwhile.
Video Lessons.
Here is a series of 12 video lessons at Youtube. This guy covers the basics very well. You can ignore where he talks about going to his web site. You no longer have to do that. All 12 lessons are now on Youtube.

Tabs. You need to learn how to read tabs. Tabs is a short hand method of writing guitar music. It is widely used now. Fortunately it is quick and easy to learn

Chord Chart. You need a chord chart. You can get one here. Down load the PDF file to your computer so you will have it. Handy way to figure out how to finger a chord

I just love answering these guitar lessons questions. Here’s another:
: just get a song that will fit you, if you think you cant still play the song you choose then pick another one.
examle song:
JET – Look What You’ve Done
Verse:
C is the first chords then when you reach the (of ) thats where you change it to G then (just)Am
so on and so forth.(Down the chord is a word that guides you where to change your chords.)
CG Am G F G
Take my photo of the wall if it just won’t sing for you,
C G Am G D
Cause all that’s left has gone away and there’s nothing left for you to prove
Chorus:
FG C C/BAm (G)
Ohhhh look what you’ve done you’ve made a fool of everyone
Ohhhh and it seems like such fun until you lose what you have won
D
Whoooo
playing solo is kind of boring.. i suggest if you have friends, relative, etc.. play with them
inspiration would be GREAT!
if not just don’t forget the word on top! coz its really the key of having something or everything.
(it will really HURT your fingers if your newbie)
have fun playing……

Well here’s a question I just had to answering straight away:
This site gives you a strong foundation in theory, which will later help you grasp everything else much faster. It’s really important to actually KNOW what it is you’re doing, rather than merely follow fingering signs on tablature or chord diagrams.
There are 3 basic areas of knowledge you’ll have to think about in learning any instrument:
1. Music theory concepts as they apply to your instrument
2. Technique
3. Style specifics
enjoy!
