What is the Best Guitar Lesson Channel on Youtube?

What a great guitar lessons question:

Question: Looking for intermediate guitar lessons (preferably metal) with good quality instructions, audio, video, etc.
Answer: For great heavy metal tutorial videos, let me suggest the channels "BobbyCrispy" and "vanderbilly" on YouTube. In fact, you should simply go to vanderbilly.com for the mother lode of quality guitar lesson videos. It’s a fantastic website. It allows viewers to watch videos significantly slowed down, and those who post videos are very skilled guitarists and tutors.

Should I Go into My Guitar Lesson B@ked?

This week’s question is a good one. Let’s have a look:

Question: Or is it a bad idea? I just started taking lessons about a month and a half ago so I’m a beginner. Id be smoking at about 1:30 because I can leave early Wednesday because if you have last period study juniors and seniors can leave early.

So yea I’d smoke at about 1:30 and my guitar lesson is at 5:30. So a good 4 hours to cool down. And anyway I can function pretty well while I’m h!gh. What do you think? Have you ever done it or gone into a place like this while h!gh? I think my guitar teacher smokes too because his eyes were red the past couple weeks lol.

Answer: Go for it.

Guitar Lesson????????

Another guitar lessons question has come in this week. Let’s tackle it straight away:

Question: I have my first guitar lesson soon and I’m nervous!!! The teacher will come to me instead of me going to him. I’m so nervous! Help?
Answer: Relax, it’s okay! It’s normal to be nervous – you don’t know what to expect from the person, don’t know what you’ll learn, if it’s all too much learning at once, if you’re going to get along … It’s not out of the ordinary.

But trust me, a lot of the guitar teachers I’ve had have been laid back, understanding, and they know what pace to go at when you’re learning. You’ll get along with them fine :)

What you need to do is just take a few deep breaths and remember why you’re taking up guitar. Remember that this is something you really want to do, remember that you are looking forward to learning how to play an instrument!

Honestly, you’ll be fine, your nerves are normal but they’ll go away after the first few weeks :)

Good luck with your lessons, I really hope you enjoy the guitar

How Do I Plan a Guitar Lesson for a Good Guitarist Who Doesn't Know the Fundamentals?

What’s this week’s guitar lessons question? Let’s dive straight in…

Question: So I told my friend I could give him some guitar lessons and teach him the fundamentals of guitar. How should I start this? He doesn’t know any scales or that kind of stuff, but what kind of scales should I start him out with?
Pretty much he’s a guitarist who’s learned everything from online tabs. What can I teach him that’s not note reading?
Answer: Well if he has technique down good enough, that’s a good start. Unfortunately, people who do this are often unwilling to learn the ‘basics.’

Start by making sure he knows the notes on the neck; sharps, flats, etc. If that’s good, start with the minor pentatonic scales. Those are definitely the most used, they’re easy, and sound great!

Depending how much you know, you can teach him different things about theory like harmony, etc.

Should I Take a Guitar Lesson or Learn on My Own at Home?

A guitar lessons question that should definitely interest you all this week

Question: I have an acoustic guitar and has couple of books to teach myself a guitar, however, I have not yet learned how to play. I have learned about 10 chords, but knowing these chords does not make me a guitar player….. I have been thinking of taking a guitar lesson, is it worth it?
Answer: >>I have been thinking of taking a guitar lesson, is it worth it?<<

Guitar lessons (not just one lesson) are totally worth it. Statistics show that 90% of people who try to teach themselves, fail. If you’re serious about learning to play the guitar, take lessons. Good luck.

What's the Average Price of a Guitar Lesson?

This week’s question is a good one. Let’s have a look:

Question: What's the Average Price of a Guitar Lesson?
Answer: Depends on your location.

Expect $15.00-$20.00 for 30/60 mins.

If you live near a college that has a music school you can contact the guitar/strings professor and ask if they know of any guitar majors that could take on a student. That is your best bet for a cheap price. However, they may not be a good teacher as they lack experience.

What Are Some Fun, EASY Songs to Learn on the Guitar?

This week’s question is a good one. Let’s have a look:

Question: I am 14, and I just had my first guitar lesson Last Friday, so far, I can play smoke on the water perfect, and the inspector gadget theme song (… my teacher asked me to learn them so I would learn the basics.) I practise about 4 times a day, just playing around and I’m getting bored of playing the SAME thing over and over … are there any other fun songs like these I would be able to learn?g Nothing too hard… I’d like something fun to learn. Or maybe a site that would have the TAB so I could see it? I am hoping to play mostly rock music… but anything would be great :)

Thank you in advance :)

Answer: There’s a lot of punk songs are easy which use mostly 5th chords like smoke on the water and there’s a lot of other easy songs too. Go to www.ultimate-guitar.com for tabs.

Sheena is A Punk Rocker – The Ramones (try any Ramones song)
Hard Day’s Night – The Beatles
Sunshine of your Love – Cream
You Really Got Me – The Kinks
All These Things I’ve Done – The Killers
Play With Fire – The Rolling Stones
Hard to Explain – The Strokes
Paranoid – Black Sabbath
Seven Nation Army – White Stripes
More Than A Feeling – Boston
Death Or Glory – The Clash
Highway to Hell – AC/DC
Pink Floyd – Wish You Were Here
Jeff Buckley – Hallelujah
Karma Police – Radiohead
Pieces of What – MGMT
The Kooks – Love it All

Here’s my advice to you as a beginner. Find any simple melody you hear that you really like and learn how to play it by ear. Just explore the songs you like and if you learn how to play them it will be so gratifying. So just try and play the music that you love and it will be much easier to learn. That’s how I did it and I know that if the passion is there anyone can. Learning by a combination of your ear and tabs will make you a much better player. Plus its more fun trust me so good luck and just don’t give up!

Where Can I Get Free Online Guitar Lessons?

What’s this week’s guitar lessons question? Let’s dive straight in…

Question: I got a classical guitar, and I wish to learn how to play it during my vacation (two months). Where can I get good free online guitar lessons for beginners?
I know. I am not saying that I am going to master the art of guitar playing, know how to play Cavatina in two months, or something. I don’t like rushing up with learning something. I will keep studyng guitar! My main point is where can I get basic online guitar lesson.
And thanks a lot for the website. I ‘will’ keep studying guitar. It is not like I am going to do something quickly and rush, and then forget it. I am very interested in playing instruments as one of my good hobbys. Such as flute, which I leared how to play when I was 9 years old and still play it. I just wanted to learn basic stuff during my vacation. Thanks. :)
Answer: I doubt very seriously you will learn to play in two short months. The study of guitar is, or should be a lifelong experience that is forever evolving.

A short answer to your question may be found at: http://www.learnclassicalguitar.com/ This is a good place to start your journey.

Have fun and remember, "Rarely do words alone adequately express the emotions inside, it’s the accompaniment that embellishes them with passion. Even when you play as poorly as I." — JonBouye
